DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 23, 2025 – The LPGA Foundation announced today that Emma Bunch, a junior from New Mexico State University, is the recipient of the 2025 Dinah Shore Trophy celebrating her remarkable achievements on and off the golf course.

The Dinah Shore Trophy honors a top collegiate female golfer with a minimum 3.2 GPA, participation in at least 50% of her team’s events, a scoring average of 78 or less, and demonstrated leadership and community impact.

"Being selected for the Dinah Shore Trophy is such a big honor, and I could not be more grateful,” expressed Bunch. “I am so proud to join a list of very accomplished women. None of it would be possible without the tremendous support I’ve gotten from NMSU and the Aggie community, and I am so happy to help spread the Aggie name and give back to the program."

A Las Cruces, New Mexico native, Bunch maintains a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Her academic excellence is matched by her stellar performance on the golf course. She posted a T11 finish at the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA) and won titles at the Spring Break Shootout, Golfweek Fall Challenge, C-USA Championship, Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, PING-ASU Invitation and GCU Invitational to name a few.

“Emma is as special as they come,” expressed NMSU Head Coach Danny Bowen. “She does everything with a smile on her face and with determination to give her best every day. Since 2016, she has served as a junior golf coach, mentoring children ages 4-16 during summers and leading women’s golf clinics at NMSU. She has also volunteered at El Caldito Soup Kitchen, supported the Mesilla Elementary Jog-a-thon, and organized campus clean-up initiatives at NMSU, where she led peers in maintaining a sustainable environment.

Bunch’s leadership shines through her ability to inspire others, lead by example and confidently voice her perspective when needed. She embodies the spirit of the Dinah Shore Trophy. Her impact on and off the course positions her as a role model for aspiring student-athletes.

Bunch plans to pursue professional golf and hopes to qualify for the LPGA Tour after graduation in May 2026. She intends to utilize her biochemistry degree later in life to either conduct research or serve as a mental coach to help other young athletes.

Established in 1994 by Friends of Golf (FOG) to honor the late Dinah Shore, a Vanderbilt graduate and honorary LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame member, the Dinah Shore Trophy has contributed over $220,000 to women’s collegiate golf programs.
Wake Forest's Carolina Lopez-Chacarra Named Recipient of the 2025 Inkster Award Presented by Workday

DUBLIN, Ohio – May 28, 2025 –Three-time All-American and Wake Forest University senior Carolina Lopez-Chacarra has been named the recipient of the 2025 Inkster Award presented by Workday, recognizing the highest-ranked women’s Division I (DI) collegiate golfer in her final year of eligibility for the 2024-2025 college golf season.

The award is named after Juli Inkster, a World Golf Hall of Fame member and LPGA legend who was a three-time All-American at San José State (1979-1982). Inkster elected not to turn professional until finishing her four-year commitment to her school, winning 17 individual titles during her college career. The Inkster Award winner was announced onsite at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, a PGA TOUR event in Dublin, Ohio.

Lopez-Chacarra, a fourth-year senior, finished the season as the top-ranked DI women’s college golfer in her senior season, according to Clippd, ranked sixth overall. She is also currently ranked 20th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings. She captured two wins during the 2024-2025 season, including the individual medalist at the NCAA Lubbock Regional Championship as well as the individual champion at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup.

As a result of winning the 2025 Inkster Award, Lopez-Chacarra will receive:
•	Sponsor invitations to compete in the 2025 Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give (June 12-15) at Blythefield Country Club in Belmont, Mich.; and The Standard Portland Classic, (Aug. 14-17) at Columbia Edgewater Country Club in Portland, Ore.
•	She will automatically advance to the Qualifying Stage (Second Stage) of 2025 LPGA Qualifying Series (Q-Series), Oct. 15-18 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla.
•	As a presenting sponsor of the Inkster Award, Workday will provide $50,000 to the Juli Inkster Foundation to help support Lopez-Chacarra’s transition to her professional golf career. The $50,000 will support Lopez-Chacarra’s mentorship retreat with Inkster and assist with her travel expenses.
•	She will join Inkster on a two-day mentorship retreat in Northern California.

“Carolina has had a decorated amateur and collegiate career at Wake Forest, earned her college degree and excelled on the golf course, helping to lead the Lady Demon Deacons to consecutive NCAA national championship appearances,” said Inkster. “That says a lot about not only her performance on the course, but also about her goals and passions away from it and putting education as a priority. I look forward to mentoring Carolina as she navigates the next stage in her professional and personal journeys.”

“I also want to thank the Women’s Golf Coaches Association and Workday for partnering with me on this award,” continued Inkster. “To have a player be honored for her commitment to her school, coaches and her teammates is what this award is all about.”

“I’m thrilled to be the recipient of this year’s Juli Inkster Award presented by Workday and to receive this award,” said Lopez-Chacarra. “Juli has had an incredible career on tour and I aspire to follow in her footsteps. Thank you to Workday and Juli Inkster for this mentorship and opportunity to kick-start my professional career.”

“It is an unbelievable honor for Carolina to be selected for the Juli Inkster Award,” said Kim Lewellen, women’s golf head coach at Wake Forest. “Juli Inkster not only won 31 times on tour, but she also showcases professionalism and a willingness to give back to the game, especially for those young ladies who made the decision to stay the four years and graduate with a degree instead of turning professional early. That is the spirit of this award, and Carolina embodies that. It's perfect timing in her golf career for all the opportunities that the Juli Inkster Award presented by Workday provides, including two LPGA starts, as well as financial support in her transition to professional golf. This award is a true honor."

Lopez-Chacarra wrapped up her collegiate career by helping to lead Wake Forest to the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships earlier this month. She concluded her senior season with six top-five finishes, including two wins, in 10 events. She has competed in five editions of the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, highlighted by a ninth-place finish in 2025. She will represent Team International in the 2025 Arnold Palmer Cup, June 5-7 at Congaree Golf Club, her second appearance in the Arnold Palmer Cup (2022). As a sophomore in 2023, she helped Wake Forest win the NCAA DI Women’s Golf Championships title. She is competing this week at the U.S. Women’s Open at Erin Hills in Wisconsin after finishing as the low medalist and low amateur at the Duke University Golf Club qualifier.

The 2025 recipients of the Division II and Division III Inkster Award will be announced at a later date.

Georgetown University's Charlotte Hillary Receives WGCA Division I Kim Moore Spirit Award

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (May 23, 2025) – Georgetown University graduate student Charlotte Hillary has been named the recipient of the 2025 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Division I Kim Moore Spirit Award.

Charlotte Hillary acceptance video: https://vimeo.com/1087183883

This award is dedicated to Kim Moore, who played golf for the University of Indianapolis (1999-2003). Kim was an inspiration to all as she persevered through many physical challenges while playing collegiate golf. She has continued to leave her mark on the game, winning the inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open in 2022. Her positive outlook and dedication is only out done by her sense of humor and passion for the game.

The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor a student-athlete or coach who exemplifies a great spirit toward the game of golf, a positive attitude on and off the golf course, a role model for her team and mental toughness in facing challenges. The annual award is presented separately to recipients in Division I, II, III and NAIA.

In December of 2023, Charlotte suddenly began experiencing severe abdominal pain. After seeing eight specialized doctors and undergoing more than 20 tests, she was referred to the Mayo Clinic for further evaluation. Finally, in August of 2024, she received the diagnosis of nerve damage in her colon.

Shortly after her diagnosis, Charlotte began her first year as a member of the Georgetown women’s golf team while continuing to try to manage her condition. In addition to changes in her diet, adding prescription medications, and trying natural remedies, she goes in for weekly procedures and has a routine of taking certain prep medicines every week. There are many days that she is fatigued and her abdomen is chronically in pain, so she takes additional medications to manage the symptoms.

Despite these obstacles, Charlotte has excelled both on and off the golf course during her time with the Hoyas. She played in eight of the team’s ten events over the course of the season, and has maintained over a 3.9 GPA while completing her master’s degree in management at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business.
