Kim was an inspiration to all as she persevered through many physical&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Book Antiqua';">challenges while playing collegiate golf. She has continued to leave her mark on the game,&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Book Antiqua';">winning the inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open in 2022. She remained home in France during the 2024-25 season while undergoing chemotherapy and surgery. In May 2025, she was declared cancer-free.</span></p><p style="background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Book Antiqua';">&nbsp;</span></p><p style="background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Book Antiqua';">Ashley returned to Jacksonville State in August 2025 and continued her rehabilitation while preparing for a return to competition. Further evaluation revealed an injury that required surgery and an extended period away from the game. For someone with a deep passion for golf, the diagnosis was devastating, but Leia remained committed to her recovery and eventual return to competition.</span></p><p style="background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Book Antiqua';">&nbsp;</span></p><p style="background-color: #ffffff; font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif; line-height: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: 'Book Antiqua';">Just 11 months after surgery, Leia's return was nothing short of remarkable. She captured the Golfweek Fall Challenge title and added another victory at the New Mexico State event. She recorded three wins – the Historic Triangle Invitational, Jekyll Island Collegiate at Great Dunes, and the Deb Jackson Invitational. Zheng finished in 7<sup>th</sup> place at the NCAA DIII Women’s National Championship in Palm Desert, CA. She ended the season ranked #2 on Clippd, and her adjusted scoring average was 70.4. Amanda secured herself a spot on the All-UAA First Team and claimed the conference’s Rookie of the Year title. Coach Rodgers has just completed his twelfth season at CMU and has led the Tartans to seven NCAA tournament appearances (sixth straight time) with a National Championship win in 2024. The Tartans secured two wins (NCAA Preview – Stroke Play and Savannah Invitational) and had nine top-three finishes in the 25-26 season. They clinched three wins (George Phinney Golf Classic, Williams Fall Invitational, and 2026 NESAC Women’s Golf Championship) and had five top-three finishes. The Division I Awards Committee reviews the ten highest-ranked coaches in each region and their respective records for the year. From that list, the committee determines the Golf Pride Region Coaches of the Year. <description><![CDATA[FRISCO, Texas (December 10, 2025) – Kevin Williams, Director of Golf and Head Coach for Women’s and Men’s Golf at East Carolina University, has been named the recipient of the 2025 Kim Evans Award, as announced by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) in collaboration with the PGA of America. Kevin will be presented with this award in Las Vegas on Wednesday, December 10.<br /><br />The prestigious Kim Evans Award honors the lifetime achievement of the WGCA Hall of Fame coach from Auburn University. The Kim Evans Award is presented annually to the college coach and Class A PGA Professional whose support of the game through teaching, coaching, and involvement in the community has helped ensure the continued growth of golf, and who represents the finest qualities the sport has to offer.<br /><br />With more than 24 years of collegiate head coaching experience, Kevin Williams has built a legacy of excellence across both the men’s and women’s golf programs at East Carolina University (ECU). After returning to his alma mater in 2021 to lead the men’s team, he was elevated to Director of Golf in 2023 and now serves as the full-time head coach for both programs. Williams previously guided the ECU women’s squad for 17 seasons and founded the program in 2000, transforming it into a perennial NCAA postseason contender with 12 at-large bids and 29 team titles. He has demonstrated long-standing leadership within collegiate golf, holding multiple executive roles with the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). He currently serves as Vice President (2024–present), a position he also held from 2018–2019. He previously served as Treasurer from 2016–2018 and as a Board Member from 2014–2016. His commitment to the sport extends to NCAA governance as well, where he served on the NCAA Men’s Golf South Region Regional Advisory Committee for three consecutive years, including two terms as Chairman.&nbsp;<br /><br />Williams has been a dedicated member of the PGA of America since 1988 and has served the Carolinas PGA Section in numerous leadership capacities, including multiple terms on the Board of Directors (1991–93, 1995), Chair of the Junior Golf Committee (1992), and Chair of the Tournament Committee (1993–94). A skilled player in his own right, Williams captured eight Carolinas PGA Pro-Am titles, won the 2019 Carolinas PGA Senior Pro-Pro Championship with partner Brady Pinner, and qualified for the PGA Club Professional Championship in both 1989 and 1992.&nbsp;<br /><br />Kevin has supported numerous charitable efforts, including the Mr. Beast Philanthropy Food Pantry (2021–2024) and the Build-a-Bike Charity (2019–2020). He also volunteered as a Salvation Army Bell Ringer and contributed to initiatives such as Million Meals and the Joy Soup Kitchen Golf Tournament Committee. The Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place at Planet Hollywood Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, beginning with a reception sponsored by Babygrande Golf and followed by dinner and the banquet. Echeverria and Fassi become the 90th and 91st members of the WGCA Players Hall of Fame.&nbsp;<br /><br />Pilar Echeverria completed her five-year career at University of Indianapolis as one of the most successful golfers in the school’s history. She was a two-time PING WGCA Player of the Year, five-time WGCA First-Team All-American, and a four-time Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year. She collected a school-record 18 tournament wins, including three consecutive NCAA Regional Championship titles, and holds the program record in both lowest career scoring average (73.09) and lowest single season scoring average (71.56). Echeverria helped lead the Greyhounds to four straight GLVC Championship titles, three NCAA Regional Championship titles, and one NCAA Championship title.&nbsp;<br /><br />Maria Fassi graduated from University of Arkansas with both the lowest career scoring average (72.03) and the lowest single season scoring average (70.50) in program history. Her 11 career wins rank second in the record books, and include two SEC Championships, an NCAA Regional Championship title, and the 2019 NCAA Championship crown. She was a PING WGCA Player of the Year, three-time WGCA All-American, two-time SEC Player of the Year, and the 2019 SEC Female Athlete of the Year. Fassi helped lead the Razorbacks to three NCAA Championships appearances, including a program-best fourth place finish in 2019, and one NCAA Regional Title. She has gone on to represent Mexico at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the 2024 Paris Olympics and has recorded eight career top 10 finishes as a professional on the LPGA Tour.&nbsp;<br /><div>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<strong>CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (July 24, 2025) </strong>– University of South Carolina senior Louise Rydqvist has been named the recipient of the 2025 Edith Cummings Munson Golf Award.&nbsp;<br /><br />The award is presented annually for Women's Division I Golf and goes to the student-athlete who is an upper classman and both a WGCA All-American Scholar and a WGCA All-American.&nbsp; If more than one student-athlete qualifies, the student-athlete with the highest GPA receives the award.&nbsp; A donation of $10,000 is given from the Curtis &amp; Edith Cummings Munson Foundation to the general scholarship fund of the recipient's institution.<br /><br />Previous winners of this award include Leona Maguire (2017 and 2018), Stephanie Meadow (2013 and 2014), Brooke Pancake (2011 and 2012), Azahara Munoz (2008 and 2009) and Amanda Blumenherst (2006).<br /><br />Rydqvist was named a WGCA Second Team All-American after collecting five top 10 finishes, including a win at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. She logged a scoring average of 71.46 with 15 rounds of par or better The Värnamo, Sweden, native helped the Gamecocks claim four team victories, including the NCAA Charlottesville Regional and the program’s second ever SEC Championship.&nbsp;<br /><br />A four-time WGCA All-American Scholar, Rydqvist graduated from South Carolina with a 3.966 cumulative GPA as a finance major. <description><![CDATA[<strong>DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 23, 2025 </strong>– The LPGA Foundation announced today that Emma Bunch, a junior from New Mexico State University, is the recipient of the 2025 Dinah Shore Trophy celebrating her remarkable achievements on and off the golf course.<br /><br />The Dinah Shore Trophy honors a top collegiate female golfer with a minimum 3.2 GPA, participation in at least 50% of her team’s events, a scoring average of 78 or less, and demonstrated leadership and community impact.<br /><br />"Being selected for the Dinah Shore Trophy is such a big honor, and I could not be more grateful,” expressed Bunch. “I am so proud to join a list of very accomplished women. None of it would be possible without the tremendous support I’ve gotten from NMSU and the Aggie community, and I am so happy to help spread the Aggie name and give back to the program."<br /><br />A Las Cruces, New Mexico native, Bunch maintains a 4.0 GPA while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Her academic excellence is matched by her stellar performance on the golf course. She posted a T11 finish at the 2025 Augusta National Women’s Amateur (ANWA) and won titles at the Spring Break Shootout, Golfweek Fall Challenge, C-USA Championship, Wyoming Cowgirl Classic, PING-ASU Invitation and GCU Invitational to name a few.&nbsp;<br /><br />“Emma is as special as they come,” expressed NMSU Head Coach Danny Bowen. “She does everything with a smile on her face and with determination to give her best every day. This award would be given to a worthy person if it found its way to her.”<br /><br />Beyond academics and athletics, Bunch has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to her community. Since 2016, she has served as a junior golf coach, mentoring children ages 4-16 during summers and leading women’s golf clinics at NMSU. She has also volunteered at El Caldito Soup Kitchen, supported the Mesilla Elementary Jog-a-thon, and organized campus clean-up initiatives at NMSU, where she led peers in maintaining a sustainable environment.<br /><br />Bunch’s leadership shines through her ability to inspire others, lead by example and confidently voice her perspective when needed. She embodies the spirit of the Dinah Shore Trophy. Her impact on and off the course positions her as a role model for aspiring student-athletes.&nbsp;<br /><br />Bunch plans to pursue professional golf and hopes to qualify for the LPGA Tour after graduation in May 2026. She intends to utilize her biochemistry degree later in life to either conduct research or serve as a mental coach to help other young athletes.&nbsp;<br /><br />Established in 1994 by Friends of Golf (FOG) to honor the late Dinah Shore, a Vanderbilt graduate and honorary LPGA and World Golf Hall of Fame member, the Dinah Shore Trophy has contributed over $220,000 to women’s collegiate golf programs. FOG’s support includes a $10,000 grant to NMSU’s women’s golf program this year.<br /><br />Bunch joins distinguished past recipients, including LPGA Tour players Stacy Lewis (University of Arkansas, 2007), Amy Olson (North Dakota State University, 2012), and Golf Channel personality Amanda Blumenherst (Duke University, 2008, 2009).<br /><div>&nbsp;</div>]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[<span style="font-size: 14px;"><strong>CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (July 16, 2025)</strong> – The Ball State University women’s golf team has been named the recipient of the 2024-25 WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award. The award recognizes the women’s collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA which includes all the team’s student-athletes for the 2024-25 season. Ball State’s nine team members had an average GPA of 3.968.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br /></span><br /><span style="font-size: 14px;">Leading Division II was University of Central Missouri, as the team’s six players averaged a 3.945 GPA, while Ithaca College’s five team members led Division III with a 3.917 average GPA. In NAIA, SCAD Savannah’s 11 team members led the division with a GPA of 3.900, while Daytona State College topped the NJCAA with a 3.860 GPA.&nbsp;</span><br /><span style="font-size: 14px;"><br /></span><br /><span style="font-size: 14px;">The WGCA also announced the top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for Division I, Division II and Division III, as well as the top 10 teams for NAIA. <description><![CDATA[<strong>CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (May 28, 2025)</strong> – The Women’s Golf Coaches Association has announced Stanford University’s Meja Örtengren as the 2024-25 Division I WGCA Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine.&nbsp;<br /><br />Acceptance video: <a href="https://vimeo.com/1088479920/5017c81e43 ">https://vimeo.com/1088479920/5017c81e43&nbsp;</a><br /><br />The WGCA Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine is awarded annually to the top Freshman in Division I, II, III and NAIA women's golf. Freshmen must have competed in a minimum of 15 competitive rounds to be considered.&nbsp;<br /><br />Örtengren finished in the top-10 in every tournament she played in during her first year, including a tie for 10th place at the NCAA Championships. She claimed her first tournament win at the San Diego State Classic where she not only won by eight strokes, which is the largest win in program history, but also tied a school record with her round of 62 (-10). The Linköping, Sweden native was also named ACC Freshman of the Year.&nbsp;<br /><br />In addition, the WGCA has announced the Division I All-Freshman Team for the 2024-25 season. The Division I WGCA All-Freshman Team is selected by a prestigious collection of women’s collegiate golf coaches. Kamas scooped up the SAC individual title, three victories, two second-place finishes and six top-three showings in nine tournaments. She has won three conference golfer of the week awards and NAIA player of the week for March 13-19. Kamas ranked in the league individual crown by one shot Monday and Tuesday at Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas, with a 69-72-74–215. In her career, she has taken two league individual championships, two all-SAC honors, seven weekly accolades from the conference, three national golfer of the week awards and six wins.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />Prior to the NAIA Championship, MaKayla Tyrrell owned a 75.30 scoring average in 20 rounds on the season. Tyrrell, a freshman from Southlake, Texas, majoring in marketing, has turned in three top-five finishes, including runner-up in the Kyle Blaser Invitational on March 27-28 and fourth in the SAC Championships. The Athenas competed with a young roster in the postseason, with two first-years, two sophomores and a junior in their top five, and Bessho was instrumental in helping that young group break team scoring records for 18 holes, 36 holes and 54 holes, as well as the first two 67s individually in program history.&nbsp;<br /><br />Bessho joined the Athenas after a successful stint at SCIAC rival Redlands as both a player and a coach. She earned first-team WGCA All-America honors, and tied for 15th at the NCAA Division III Championships.&nbsp;<br /><br />Lee also earned both the SCIAC Athlete of the Year Award and the Newcomer of the Year Award after earning individual medalist honors at the league championships by shooting -10 over three rounds.
