Chris Oetinger Named Golf Pride WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year for Division II

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (June 1, 2023) – Chris Oetinger, assistant women’s golf coach at California State University, East Bay has been named 2022-23 Golf Pride WGCA Assistant Coach of the Year for Division II.

Since rejoining the Pioneers in 2021-22, Chris has been instrumental in the development of the women's golf team which has resulted in multiple team and individual titles. They appeared in the NCAA Division II West Regional the past two years and moved on to the 2023 NCAA Division II Championship. Additionally, players have received All-West Region, All-CCAA selections, and WGCA All-American recognition.

The Women’s Golf Coaches Association, founded in 1983, is a non-profit organization representing women’s collegiate golf coaches. The WGCA was formed to encourage the playing of college golf for women in correlation with a general objective of education and in accordance with the highest tradition of intercollegiate competition. Today, the WGCA represents over 700 coaches throughout the U.S. and is dedicated to educating, promoting and recognizing both its members and the student-athletes they represent.
