CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (July 24, 2025) – University of South Carolina senior Louise Rydqvist has been named the recipient of the 2025 Edith Cummings Munson Golf Award.
The award is presented annually for Women's Division I Golf and goes to the student-athlete who is an upper classman and both a WGCA All-American Scholar and a WGCA All-American. If more than one student-athlete qualifies, the student-athlete with the highest GPA receives the award. A donation of $10,000 is given from the Curtis & Edith Cummings Munson Foundation to the general scholarship fund of the recipient's institution.
Previous winners of this award include Leona Maguire (2017 and 2018), Stephanie Meadow (2013 and 2014), Brooke Pancake (2011 and 2012), Azahara Munoz (2008 and 2009) and Amanda Blumenherst (2006).
Rydqvist was named a WGCA Second Team All-American after collecting five top 10 finishes, including a win at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. She logged a scoring average of 71.46 with 15 rounds of par or better The Värnamo, Sweden, native helped the Gamecocks claim four team victories, including the NCAA Charlottesville Regional and the program’s second ever SEC Championship.
A four-time WGCA All-American Scholar, Rydqvist graduated from South Carolina with a 3.966 cumulative GPA as a finance major. She also received the Edith Cummings Munson Golf Award in 2024 and is one of only five student-athletes to receive the award multiple times.
