CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (February 14, 2025) – The WGCA Board of Directors has announced that Courtney Trimble will take over as the CEO of the WGCA (Women’s Golf Coaches Association). Trimble will work alongside current Executive Director, Roger Yaffe, from July 1, 2025, through December 31, 2025. She will fully take the reigns beginning January 1, 2026.
“Courtney has literally sat in every seat the WGCA touches. She has been a student athlete, a coach, a worker for, and a sponsor of the WGCA.” according to Kelley Hester, President of the WGCA. “There truly is no better person to lead our association and that became evident to our committee throughout the process.”
After an extensive, nationwide search, Trimble emerged as the top candidate. She is no stranger to the WGCA as a former college coach at Auburn (assistant 2006-09), UCF (head 2009-12), and Louisville (head 2012-2019) and as an All-American collegiate golfer at Auburn. Life after coaching kept Trimble close to the WGCA serving as Mentorship Program Director since 2019. In that role, Trimble designed and implemented the pilot program growing it to over 130 coaches. Additionally, Trimble owns and operates Fore Hire LLC, a boutique recruiting firm that helps former collegiate golfers connect with key golf industry players to promote careers after competitive golf.
“I am honored and excited to join the Women’s Golf Coaches Association as its new CEO,” said Trimble. “My passion for growing the game of women’s golf and supporting coaches and student-athletes is stronger than ever. Collegiate golf laid the foundation for my entire career, and I am proud to lead the WGCA in helping others through their careers and to continue advancing women’s collegiate golf at all levels.”
Current Executive Director, Roger Yaffe announced on Nov. 13, 2024 that he would be stepping away from the WGCA at the end of 2025 after 26 years. Yaffe has worked with 14 past WGCA Presidents and has seen the organization grow from 300 women’s collegiate golf coaches to over 750 coaches in 2024.
What they are saying:
“Courtney’s connections in college golf run deep and varied and her business acumen will be a perfect addition to the WGCA. Having most recently led our organization’s Mentorship Program, Courtney has been able to reconnect with many coaches which will provide her a great running start as she takes over the organization.” Roger Yaffe, Executive Director, WGCA
“The USGA is thrilled for Courtney to step into this role after an already incredible career as a player, coach, mentor and business leader. She been a part of the USGA family since playing on the victorious 2002 Curtis Cup team and her appointment only further strengthens the already strong relationship between the USGA and the WGCA. We have enjoyed working with Roger Yaffe over the last 26 years and we congratulate him on all that he has done for women’s collegiate golf.” Liz Fradkin, Senior Director, Player Relations, USGA.
