WGCA Announces Watch Lists for Division I Player and Freshman of the Year

CORAL SPRINGS, Florida (May 15, 2025) – The WGCA has announced its watch lists for the 2024-25 Division I PING WGCA Player of the Year and 2024-25 Division I WGCA Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine. Both awards will be announced after the upcoming NCAA Championship.

The PING WGCA Player of the Year is awarded annually to the best player in Division I women’s golf. Each player must complete a minimum of 15 rounds during the competitive year, including NCAA Regional Championships. 

Division I PING WGCA Player of the Year Watch List

  • Kiara Romero, SO, University of Oregon. Adjusted scoring average of 68.3. She has six top-three finishes, including wins at the NCAA Gold Canyon Regional and the Big Ten Championship, and was named Big Ten Player of the Year.
  • Mirabel Ting, JR, Florida State University. Averaging 67.1 (adj.) and has seven top-three finishes, including five wins. She tied for a runner-up finish at the NCAA Lexington Regional and was named ACC Golfer of the Year.
  • Lottie Woad, JR, Florida State University. Adjusted scoring average of 68.3 and finished in the top-three at every tournament she competed in during the season. She has two wins and tied for a runner-up finish at the NCAA Lexington Regional.

 

The WGCA Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine is awarded annually to the top Freshman in Division I women's golf. Freshmen must have competed in a minimum of 15 competitive rounds to be considered.

Division I WGCA Freshman of the Year Presented by StrackaLine Watch List

  • Eila Galitsky, University of South Carolina. Adjusted scoring average of 69.6. She has three top-five finishes, including a tie for first place at the Moon Golf Invitational, and was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Year.  
  • Jasmine Koo, University of Southern California. Averaging 69.9 (adj.) and has seven top-10 finishes, including four wins. She was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
  • Meja Örtengren, Stanford University. Has a 68.7 adjusted scoring average with six top-five finishes, including one win and a third-place finish at the NCAA Norman Regional. She was named ACC Freshman of the Year.
  • Andrea Revuelta, Stanford University. Adjusted scoring average of 69.1 and has three top-three finishes, including wins at the NCAA Norman Regional and the ACC Championship.
